Teaching Series: The Preaching of Jesus

Jesus is easily among the most well known figures in history. As a result, most people have an idea who he was, what he was like, and what he did. Our thoughts about Jesus are often complex and deeply held. But, do these ideas about Jesus prevent us from understanding what he was really like? What if our perception of Jesus was simply that, our perception. Join us at Castle Hills Christian Church as we try to discover together what Jesus was really like and what he really said. For the next few months, we will be discussing the preaching of Jesus during our worship gatherings and in many of our Pueblo Groups.

VBS Fundraiser & Chili Cook-Off

Mark Your Calendars for the Vacation Bible School Fundraiser and Chili Cook-off on Sunday, February 26, at 5:30 p.m. We need contestants for the chili cook-off. Also we need donations for the silent auction and live auction. Donated items need to be valued around $20. We also need lots of baked goods. We realize that spiritual growth comes from the Holy Spirit working in our hearts, but as a church we want to create environments for spiritual growth to take place; this is why we will be having Discover, Cultivate and Reproduce classes. Discover classes are for those who want to know more about being a Christian, for those who are newer in their relationship with Christ or for those who want to remind themselves of the basics of Christianity. Cultivate classes are for those who are looking to take the next step and grow in their relationship with Christ. Reproduce classes are for those who are ready to invest in others and help others come to know and grow in Christ.

Here is what to expect as a first time guest…

A Casual, Comfortable Feel
As you visit Castle Hills Christian Church please dress comfortably. Our members dress in blue jeans, suits and every stage in-between, so please dress however you are most comfortable.

A Guest Friendly Atmosphere
We will not make you wear a guest badge, stand up or stand out in anyway. We want you to feel free to be our guest without being singled out or embarrassed. In our foyer we have information about every aspect of Castle Hills Christian Church, and all guests are welcome to take and read any information they wish.

A Family Environment
We have facilities and programs to meet the needs of all ages. We have a clean and safe nursery for kids from birth through age 2. You will even be given a pager so if your child needs you, we can contact you right away. For your kids from age 3 through grade 5 we offer children’s church programs that are active and age appropriate. And for your junior and senior high students we have teen church which brings the bible to life for them.

A Relevant Tone
We teach the Bible in a way that is connected with everyday life. Our services begin with high-energy music followed by a culturally relevant message by one of our ministers. Each service allows you to not only learn more about God, but prepares you for the week ahead.

We are located at 6209 West Ave in San Antonio, TX (Just outside the 410 Loop, next to Aggie Park).

It will operate as an online library of articles and audio files designed for growing Christians. The material you will find there should be helpful if you are seeking to know more about Christianity, if you are a new Christian wanting to learn the basics, if you are looking for helpful information to assist you in Christian growth, or if you want to know what you can do to reproduce what Christ has planted in you into the lives of others. Vacation Bible School

Each day, children will dig into Bible learning they can see… hear… touch… and even taste! Unique crafts,
team-building games, lively Bible songs, and delicious snacks are just a few of the awesome activities that
help faith flow into real life. Kids will even choose a Daily Challenge-an exciting way to live out what
they’ve learned. The fun is heating up in this super VBS adventure!

October 17, 2010, Castle Hills Christian Church sent volunteers all throughout San Antonio for our second Faith in Action Sunday of 2010. This time, volunteers worked at West Ave Elementary School, Haven for Hope, Walnut Manor Apartments, and various homes. We want to thank all our participants for making this a vibrant part of our church experience.
